This was sweet and cute! The hot, grumpy, completely devoted main guy was an enjoyable fantasy. Avery was a bit of a bland main character (tiny, blonde, pretty, and soooooo different because she likes light beer), but that was fine.
There were a few minor editing errors. I did not like the formatting on the last page -- the teaser for the next book in the series was right there after the final line of the book, which made me feel rushed into the next thing and ruined my nice happy ending feelings.
I did get a little confused sometimes because there were so many cameos of characters from other books by this author, and I couldn't keep them straight since I hadn't read their stories.

Ugh okay so I don't mind reading about people with issues it's fine I like when they're not perfect but I hate when their issues are too close to my issues like I have a difficult time disconnecting from that

So I nearly stopped because the MMC Chris has a bit of a germ problem and he doesn't like to be touched and he doesn't share food or drinks and like it all started because his mom died from a staph infection and his dad got really scared and like okay nobody died but my mom raised me on a strict diet of don't touch thats and wash your hands and now I'm an adult who has on more than one occasion yelped when someone unexpectedly touches me I wash my hands and use hand sanitizer a lot I won't eat shared things my brother who was also raised this way just barely convinced me when I turned 21 that sharing alcohol doesn't count because it'll kill the germs (I've been to scared to verify that but I will on occasion take a sip of someones alcoholic drink or let them try a sip of mine) when covid hit my friends made fun saying I always kept a six foot distance so nothing would be new there anyway all that shared I would have never picked this book if I'd know how much I'd have in common with Chris because I knew exactly how he felt and I hated it like when she used his fork I had to take a break and like to be fair I understand he literally had eaten her out a few chapters ago so of course she doesn't see the problem in sharing a fork but like I was so stressed I put the book down and didn't pick it back up until the next day so yeah I loved and hated Chris he was really awesome and sweet in so many ways but I hate looking in the freakshow mirror I didn't really like Avery she was fine but annoyed me also she picked a guy just like her dad and was fine with that? Maybe it's because my dad's a bastard but if I realized I was in love with a man just like my dad I would puke break up with him and get very drunk in that order but she was fine seeing how similar they were which was weird to me like okay Ms. Oedipus but idk she didn't stand out like sure she was sweet and cute but as an FMC nothing new but yeah I liked Chris issues aside he was willing to wait a year just for her to see him and I loved that you know that song that's like 🎶 and maybe I'll get famous as the man who can't be moved and maybe you won't mean to but you'll see me on the news and you'll come running to the corner cause you know it's just for you I'm the man who can't be moved 🎶 I don't know the name of it but I always associate it with Rory Williams 💗 and now Chris I loved the commitment so so sweet

3⭐️
- Avery: protagonista femenina
- Christopher: protagonista masculino
