It made me sad to read the Ingalls leaving the home they built in the Prairie with its glass windows, a really deep well they dug themselves, and brand new fresh garden planted with crops they'd been saving. All Pa's hardworking was wasted. That's sad.
I did not like those Indians at all. they were horrid. and I felt so so sorry for ma having to leave after she'd just finishes all that planting. it seems so unfair having to leave just as everything was getting sorted

I don’t remember this book being so sad!! It’s definitely different when you read it as an adult versus having it read to you as a girl. Still a classic.
This is a re-read for me as part of a challenge I did. It's hard to rate a book from my childhood as reading it as a 12yr old and then again when I'm in my 50s, I see it differently.
It's a classic though and overall it was a cute and sweet read that took me back to my childhood self.
