eh, to be honest, I skimmed it but it didn't live up to my expectations what with all I've heard about it.

This one had a tiny bit more going on than the first two. Unfortunately, that tiny bit more was pretty racist, so not a huge improvement.

While the writing is pretty good, it didn't age very well. Little House in the Big Woods holds up on a reread but this one doesn't. All the talk about the "Indians" throughout the book is icky. I remember why I loved this book so much as a kid, and a lot of that magic still shines through, but alas.
