What I Loved: Okay! This one kept me going. Just enough happened to propel the overall plot forward while still focusing mainly on Mira and Samael’s romance. I always love forbidden love, and this book did a very good job of it. There were many more emotional points in this third book than the others, which I felt were appropriate given their predicament.

What Could be Better: In a way, the “you belong to my king, not me” thing was already done in the first book, but I’ll let it slide because it was different enough with Mira and Samael. I still don’t love the author’s attempt at humor, though.

Final Thoughts: So far, I like Kasia and Brand most, then Mira and Samael, surprisingly! I don’t feel much between Airk and Angelika yet, which is unusual because I saw the other pairings as soon as they were mentioned, not this one. Abigail Owen has her work cut out for her in the next book!

Meh. Gets boring.  “Oh he’s so dreamy and demanding.  I love being bossed around by strong men with scars”. “And I love her she never knew how powerful she could be until she mated me”.
Works for a book but not for a repeating theme in a series.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF’d @ 75% This just kept dragging for me. Neither of the characters were interesting. Sadly think I’ll stop the series now.

Wow! I mean you think as a series goes on that the books can’t get better than the one before, but I have to tell you this series just gets better and better. This book is so full on nonstop action. Adrenaline running through you from the very first chapter.

Another Phoenix....Meira is about to make a very clinical decision. One that is necessary in winning this war. But deception changes the fates. Now in a race to save everyone, she must find the missing one.

Samael is sworn to protect. Protect the one his heart and soul desire, but are not aloud to have. Fated to watch in agony as his heart is stripped away. But then the hands change and fate has a new path to follow.

The Red King claims to have mated a Phoenix. Now he is going to take back the clans. But what weaves the deception could be the downfall. Black magic and evil controls the other clans and the evil plan gets closer and closer to fulfillment.

Will the true Phoenix come to pass as prophecy has predicted?

I am so in love with this dragon series. It’s hot and thrilling. They are dangerous and keep readers on the edge of their seats. Each one has more challenges and danger than those before them. An amazing lineup of characters, each strong and worthy of their story.

Overall this book was a fast paced read. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions in every way possible. Danger lurking around every corner. Huge challenges and obstacles to overcome with each chapter. I cannot wait to see what happens next. A truly highly addictive read!

The Warrior King by Abigail Owen was such a good book! I love the bodyguard aspect, but how Samael still had to rely on Meira to help keep them both safe. I was surprised at the reason that brought them together and couldn't stop reading till I found out more about that situation. Meira's phoenix powers so unique and how she used them was fun to read. I'm still swooning over Meria and Samael's story. If you haven't read the Inferno Rising series yet, you are missing out! These dragon shifters and their phoenix mates are amazing!
