In the 60’s Jenny and Anthony meet, write love letters, fall in love, & spend 40 yrs trying to be together. In 2003 Ellie finds the love letters and try’s to find the authors and her own path in love. I really really enjoyed this one. Not as frothy as her other books-more history maybe? I was interested in everyone and thought about it when not reading. Perfect before bed book
3.5 stars. Sweeping romance akin to "Brief Encounter." It is beautifully paced and structured, and I do think it is worth reading if you're a fan of Jojo Moyes/midcentury romance...This is despite the infidelity, which I really don't like very much (hence the lower rating).

1. That I waited this long to finish reading this book.
2. That taking my time means that I got to experience this book for longer.
3. That this is a novel that brings me to tears and I feel all soft and gooey inside from all the love within these pages.

Jennifer and Anthony/boot fell in love with each other more than 40 years together. Their time to be with each other ended in two mere misses. They were reunited when a reporter Ellie, found their old love letters.
Overall a great love story. For me the story dragged a little too much hence the 4 stars.
