Honestly I wanted to like this. And for the most part I thought the build up was fine, I was constantly waiting for something to happen and when it finally did it was boring as hell.
I felt kinda yucky when they ripped Steve apart, but also it was still like “yes… and?”

Boring, belabored, really disappointed by this read.  The tension started out strong but blew it's load early and then just lived in repetitive scenes that weren't even particularly gruesome.  MULTIPLE reveals towards the end had me rolling my eyes so hard I nearly put the book down mere chapters before finishing.
