I enjoyed how the book waines from autobiography of the author and his family to reflection on the time we have left and if our world will act justly. Good information that I wasn't aware of presented in a palatable way
Perfect balance of optimism and inevitable doom. Great climate change read that made me think
It just lost me a lot with the family history/ memoir vibe. I don't think he has an uninteresting life, but I was interested in Iceland's relationship with global warming. I think if I was a fan of this authors "maybe" I would have loved the mixture. It was my first read for him, so it came off more as self-promotion. If I hadn't been reading this with a friend, I would have given up earlier and never finished. As a positive, it did have great stories and information. Just felt like a lot of genres combined that felt disruptive.

A difficult but essential read that emphasizes both the dire straits we are in alongside the connectivity of us all and the ingenuity of humanity in the times we need it the most.

Thoughtful and interesting, especially coming from a citizen of a country with a population equal to that of San Francisco above Market. There may have been some things too subtle to translate into English, because it felt repetitive in a few places. I think it's good to have more books like this, because we need books that speak to everyone and you never know what will reach any particular person.
