Not really knowing much about Minnie Driver, this was an interesting read.
I’d say in terms of other memoirs I’ve read, it doesn’t have a huge amount of trauma or drama that the celeb world seems full of but she was funny and honest in sharing her story.
The coverage of her Mums death really broke me, beautifully told

“Two things can be true. It can be sad and amazing. It can be difficult and rare. Why would happiness only have happiness in it? It’s got so many other things in it.”
I adore celebrity memoirs and was excited to delve into this one to learn more about Minnie Driver. We all know her from Good Will Hunting, but she has scores of credits to her name and now add author!
Minnie has written a beautiful book and expertly weaves stories about her life from childhood to now. She shares difficulties of her life, struggles of adolescence, and how she rose to fame as an actress. The one theme that really resonated with me was the notion of two things can be true. It’s not always black and white or binary, but sometimes life is beautiful and hard or happy and sad. I think that is something we should all keep in mind and accept as a part of life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
I wanted to give a big thank you to Minnie Driver and team & HarperOne Books for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book!

This book is so charming and so funny and so honest. Driving is unflinchingly candid in describing herself and her life and all of the good and the bad that she's experienced. I wanted this to be twice as long as it is. The last two essays, in particular, are just outstanding. Highly recommended.

This collection of memoir essays was enjoyable. Driver told each essay in a charming and thoughtful way. I was a little distracted by the distinct essay structure - I expected a more obvious connection between each essay, as some are separated by ten or more years from the previous essay. I enjoyed the audio experience, read by Driver, but was definitely jarred by the sudden ending and prompt transition to a Q&A with Driver.
