I'd heard a lot of great things about Jojo Moyes and selected this title as my first read from her. I'm not sure if it was overhyped for me or if it's just not my cup of tea, but I felt a bit "meh" about it throughout.

I found the dialogue humorous at times, but nothing notable. A few of the characters' personal struggles were relatable, but I often found them dislikable because of how they handled those struggles. The story was also nothing fantastic - there were plot points that I would've enjoyed a further look at and areas where things seemed to drag on pointlessly. It was admittedly interesting enough to keep reading, but I think I just wanted to finish it.

This was such a fun book to read. It's the first book I read by Jojo Moyes and I am tempted to read more books from her. It's a book about women named Nisha and Sam who end up switching their bags, which affects their lives in significant ways, with themes such as discovering yourself and female friendship. I was more interested in Nisha's story than Sam's story but both were interesting in the end. I highly suggest this book to anyone looking for a fun read, especially close to Galentine's Day.

I don’t write reviews often but ugh. 2.5.
I love reading imperfect, flawed characters. Heck, I even like an unlikable character here and there. But these characters were SO MISERABLY UNLIKABLE this was so hard to read!!! Sam is ridiculously negative and frankly, dumb. She can’t read a room to save her life and it’s painful to read. Nisha is one-dimensional and predictable. And didn’t even show that much growth to be honest. It dragged on and was the absolute opposite of “hard to put down”. I actually felt myself needing to take a break from the obnoxious, predictable characters and their constant run-around goose-chases.
This is a sad review to write because I LOVE Jojo Moyes and I was so excited to read this book but it is far from her best work, and felt a little phoned-in. What a bummer.
Extra star for those beautiful shining Steinbeckian Jojo Moyes wisdom nuggets. She really is a star, even in a bummer book.

This was pretty entertaining. I liked the story and the characters more as the novel progressed. I especially enjoyed how the women (Jasmine, Nisha, Sam, and Andrea) worked together, and I found the ending mostly satisfying.
