Rina Kent is one of my favorite authors, so I actually kept pushing this book off. I was scared to read it, knowing I'd want more immediately—and the rest isn’t out yet. But I finally gave in, and wow, I’m glad I did. Beautiful Venom grabbed me from the start and didn’t let go. The tension, the secrets, the slow unraveling—it all worked so well. And yes, now I’m desperate for the next books in the series.
The story itself had me fully hooked. I loved how the mystery behind Dahlia’s motives slowly came to light without ever feeling dragged out. Rina’s pacing was perfect—never too fast, never too slow. You just had to keep reading. It had that addictive feel where you always need one more chapter. The darker tone in the beginning gradually shifted in a really natural way, and it fit the characters and plot perfectly.
Kane and Dahlia were everything. Their chemistry was wild, and I’m a sucker for that mutual obsession vibe. Dahlia was confident, strong, and so sure of herself—loved that. And Kane? Possessive, cold, obsessive… but completely hers. The way they both knew what they wanted and claimed each other from the start was refreshing. And yes, every time he said “don’t touch my things” I had to smile. That trope gets me every time.
The spice was on point. Rough, raw, and hot—Rina didn’t hold back. But it never overtook the story. The balance between plot and heat was perfect. I also really liked how this book still had that signature Rina chaos and darkness, but somehow felt more mature, more emotionally layered.
And then there’s the narration. The audiobook was honestly next level. Corvin King was Kane. That voice? Made for primal obsession. Deep, intense, and absolutely perfect. Michelle Sparks’s performance as Dahlia matched him so well—emotional, sharp, and full of fire. Together, they made the story even more immersive. I listened and read along on Kindle, and it was such a good combo. This is one of those audios that really adds something extra, and I’m already counting down the days until we get the rest.
All in all, this book gave me everything I wanted—dark romance, secret society drama, obsession, spice, and characters that stick with you. Rina Kent does it again.

Honestly, this was fine but there was a ton of stuff in the plot which made the whole book feel cramped. Like there’s the sports element, a secret society, a murder mystery, tons of kinks, lots of family dynamics and relationships mess… I am a huge Rina Kent fan and I’ve read 99% of her entire catalog, but this just felt like she crammed every trending trope from dark romance into one story. Will I check out book 2? Yes. Do I hope it’s cleaner plot line, also yes.
dark hockey romance with a secret society? great combo but felt like the plot was pretty thin and went in a few circles. still flew through it

Oof...It’s a sad day, because I am left completely underwhelmed by an RK book.
I fear that we’ve returned to the formulaic storytelling similar to the Legacy parents’ series. The female protagonist is annoying, the parents are either terrible or deceased, and the plot twists are anticlimactic. While I didn’t mind the primal play/CNC elements, which are fitting for a dark romance, the spice in this book was actually quite cringeworthy. Probably due to the lack of chemistry between the characters.
Additionally, the book was entirely too long, with only the last 20% of the story actually developing the plot. However, there were a few things I liked: the bantering, camaraderie, and close-knit bond between Kane, Jude, and Preston, as well as the narrators, who carried the book for me.
And...that's all I've got for this one.

I didn't hate it ..but I also didn't love it. I found the LOG men darker and deeper. I wanted to love Kane, but just couldn't find him endearing in the end.
“But you have slithered between my heart and rib cage and I’m unable to breathe without you. You’ve conquered me, heart and soul, Dahlia. I don’t know what love is and whether or not it’s real, but if it exists, you’re its definition for me.”
