Okayy... I absolutely devoured this book!!!
Its officially my new obsession...

DAHLIA THORNE is honestly such a great character. She's damaged, guarded, and has all her walls up—but when she was with Kane, she let some of that slip. Just a little. And that says everything.
She’s also an incredible sister. Her love for Violet runs so deep that she went full-on revenge mode for her. Then came Kane. She didn’t expect it, but she fell for him. Hard. So hard that she looked past all the messed up things he did. Forgave him. Trusted him. Until Julian dropped the truth bomb—that Kane and Jude were involved in what happened to Violet. That it was all part of some twisted plan. Her heart broke. She felt betrayed. Played. So she disappeared, stayed with her sister, and ignored Kane completely—even when he showed up at the safe house trying to explain everything.
He waited for her. Day after day. And she still wouldn’t budge. But then something changed. Megan texted her about Preston’s crash, and when she found out Kane and Jude were there, panic kicked in. Eventually, she learned Kane had actually protected Violet—stopped Jude from going too far. And just like that, she forgave him. Later on, he proposed. She said yes.

KANE DAVENPORT is a mess, but somehow still a great guy. His family is fucked up beyond belief, and the way he went after Dahlia was seriously messed up too. But still—he saw her once, in that crusty old apartment, and fell for her. Didn't even realise it right away. He just knew he had to protect her.
Their first proper meeting? Kinda epic. He waits for his friend to leave, walks up to her, reads her like an open book, and invites her to some fake ceremony he cooked up as part of a plan. She actually shows up. And then he puts her through this messed-up “test”—makes her relive the day her parents died, then sleeps with her as the second part. Yeah. Not his best moment.
Still, his feelings grew fast. Possessive, jealous, obsessed. He couldn’t help it. She was the only thing that made him feel real. They hooked up a few more times, started dating, and were actually kinda happy... until his father ruined it. Again. That man tortured Kane so badly, he stopped feeling pain altogether. Turned him into something cold. But even then, Kane couldn't stay away from Dahlia.
And the day he saw her in the dress he bought her—with Marcus, no less—he snapped. That was the moment they claimed each other. Fully. No going back.
Honestly? Glad he killed his father. The moment he saw Dahlia locked in that torture chamber, that was it. Game over. He did what needed to be done. No guilt. No hesitation.
Then he leaves for a while, and boom—Julian tells Dahlia everything. She’s gone. And Kane? He’s furious. But he tracks her down, explains it all. She still won’t forgive him, but he doesn’t leave. He waits. Every day. And finally, she forgives him. They get engaged, and it’s beautiful.
Low-key sad he’s quitting hockey though. That was his thing—him, Jude, and Preston. They were so good at it. But it can't be change now, can it?

Anyways... can't wait for the next 2 book!!
