Outside of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, I think this is my favorite Chronicles of Narnia read.

this one is a bit tricky
i said i didn’t care about the religious references but they were so heavy handed in this book that i had to roll my eyes multiple times.
i was so tired of aslan being god lol.
anyway i guess this was okay. majority of the book was spent talking about the history and what happened to narnia while the kids were at earth
mostly it was boring stuff unfortunately
the battle happened so quickly just like in the first book
i didn’t like this as much as i did the first one
i know i planned on reading the whole series but i’m not feeling it anymore
the magic is gone and i have no interest finishing the series
but i’m glad i got to check out how these books were written

I don’t have any strong feelings one way or the other about this book. It was nice to return to the “main” characters but the fantasy of it all was missing. This is a new Narnia and the premise was about war and reclaiming the land. There was just nothing overly exciting or fanciful about it and there was, once again, very heavy religious overtone. Even though there’s some great storytelling, everything felt more simplified and there wasn’t a lot of depth to any of the characters. It felt like more time was taken to explain their journey across the land then there was in the actual battle, and then it was over. The moments that should have had more of an impact felt very abrupt.

No hay razón, me pareció lo mismo que la ya había visto en la película y es la que menos me gustó
This book takes place a year after the first published book and features the same four children: Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy.
While sitting at a train station, readying to go off to school, the kids are pulled back into the world of Narnia where they save a dwarf from death. The dwarf begins to tell the kids a story about a young prince named Caspian and how the prince needs assistance to fight his uncle for the throne. With this knowledge, the kids make a journey to the battle where they hope to help Prince Caspian return Narnia back to its old “glory” days.
I actually liked this story better than The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. It has a great buildup although the action in the end was short lived and the story came to an abrupt ending. Overall though it was decent and I am curious to see what adventures are still in store in the books that remain - 3 stars!
