i did enjoy this book, but i did figure out the plot and the culprit like 10 chapters in. at first i thought i was a genius for figuring it out so soon but after reading all the other reviews iām not feeding my ego too much anymore lol. but i did love the story :)
Even though I figured out who the villain of this piece was very early on, I was pleased with the conclusion to this trilogy.
I also just want to say, I really like Sage. Though she can be a bit stubborn at times, she really is willing to go through anything to protect her loved ones and to do the right thing for her country/ally countries.

So goodness gracious I want a freaking Alex Quinn and plus his and Sage Fowler's story in this trilogy is one of a kind. These books should be read. Plus many have to meet Alex since he's seriously adorable, loyal, cute, funny, protective and many other things. And Sage is just the same which makes them perfect for one another.
Okay OTP "rant" over

I love these books so much, this one was such a good and fulfilling ending to the trilogy. I hope everyone finds a series they love as much as I love this one. I cannot recommend this high enough.

As a person following this book trilogy for three years now, I have to say, it did feel sufficiently wrapped up. I enjoyed the thing of the ends and the conclusivity of the book. There were certainly a lot of other things I liked about the book too (I did give it four stars). I liked Sage and Alex's relationship. I liked the parallels between Sage and Alex and Zoraya and Huzar. I liked Sage's inward thinking about her own growth and how she needed to grow more. I think this book of all three most explicitly had Sage reflecting on what she had done wrong, why it was wrong, and how she needed to improve. And I do love me some character development.
But, of course there were a few things I didn't like. Mainly, that I knew who did it from the beginning. Literally right after the assassins (that's not much of a spoiler, I feel like there's assassins in every book), I was able to know who sent them. But then I had to read the rest of the book of them trying to figure it out. Sage really should have figured it out sooner, she was in the best position to, she had all the information. Anyway, to some extent it was a little painful, and also meant I did not get to experience the thrill of the finding out or the plot twist at the end. The other thing, which really is a thing started in book two but that I was thinking about a lot, was the supposed need to write in Lani's accent. They're all switching languages all the time, you're telling me none of the other characters even have an accent? No, just the brown one. I found it to be pretty offensive and unnecessary.
However, I would like to end the review in a good note. One of the things that bugged me about the last two books is that at the end, someone HAS TO die. While I can see how you can carry over into the next books and have these deaths drive the remaining characters, it felt less about characters and more about shock factor. Although at the same time, that's how war is. However, I felt that the way this book handled killing people off was better than the other two.
Overall, I did really enjoy reading this series and getting to spend my time in this world. I would recommend this series to fans of daughter of the pirate king.

Yes yes yes!!! Okay so I was pissed In the beginning mostly because my book is damaged ( missing words in the beginning š) But loved it. Kinda predictable with what would happen next but taht okay right ?? lol and there is a possibility of a fourth book but the series ended nice - oh this book was kinda like the second with the faking of death part. Well time for a new book
Beautiful! I honestly can't think straight right now, feel somehow drunk with all those emotions!
I can truly say I'm satisfied. Of course I miss that story already! But, for real, it's one of the best series young adult-ish I've ever read. Actually one of two. With my hand on my heart - Erin Beaty is next to lovely Tahereh Mafi my favorite writer. It's ridiculous how they both know what words exactly should be used in every damn scene. Love them, love theirs books very very much!

A satisfying end to the series. This book is a little slower paced than the previous novels and I found the "twist" to be predictable, but I had a lot of fun with these books.
I liked the first the best in this series. I liked this one but the twist was predictable from the first hundred pages so it was not a surprise to me. I think too many hints were dropped for there to be any doubt and seemed really far fetched that none of the characters ever thought of it.
