While the weakest of the trilogy, The Traitor's Kingdom as still a good ride and finished the series in a satisfying way. It had none of the extreme highs and lows of the first two books, and I guessed the twist early on, but hey, it was satisfying enough. I do wish that Beaty had left me as in love with Quinn by the end of this one as she did in the first two though - the chemistry and love and satisfaction just wasn't quite up to par.

“ Shes in the library, where else?”

The final book of the Traitor’s Circle definitely did not disappoint, one of the biggest things for me to enjoy a series by the end, is the conclusion of the whole series. I was left feeling satisfied, happy and definitely a little misty by the end of the epilogue.

I think one of my favorite aspects about this book and series are the characters. I found I could easily relate to Sage, since she has a love of learning and reading and can always be found in the library but I wish I was even half as fierce as she is. But as fierce as she is, she also has a vulnerable side and questions herself from time to time which I loved because it made her feel more real!
I also really really loved Lani, Princess of Casmun. What I love most is, she’s hilarious. It takes a lot for me to laugh out loud from a book but she managed to do it a few times. I also love her openness and bluntness and found it refreshing from all the lies and secrecy from the first book!
Last but not least Alex and Clare, they were always loyal to Sage, even if she didn’t deserve it.

For me, connecting with the characters is the most important aspect of loving a story and I love this cast of characters so much.

For readers who are interested in: amazing characters, diverse languages and people, uniting and uprising and betrayal.

I'm so glad I finally finished this series!
While I didn't remember everything about the previous books, I still understood the plot easily (I might just have appreciated some details more if I had read the books closer together).
In my opinion, this series is a very underrated slow fantasy series with lots of political scheming and an AMAZING representation of PTSD and addiction (especially to medication after hospitalization) and I am overall satisfied with the ending, even though some parts were predictable.

It took me a while longer to finish this book than the first two. It was a decent wrap up, the main couple put their egos aside and everyone else coupled up. I will say that there were so many names of different dukes and barons and colonels that it was too much to keep everyone straight and really think through the mystery of who was the real enemy.
