Incredible story. I listened to this book via audiobook and wow! I do, however, think that it would be a lot of very dense information to read through.

This book is mostly an incredible and engaging read. While there are moments where the pacing can feel a bit slow—especially if you're not used to wartime nonfiction—the depth of the narrative really keeps you hooked. Hillenbrand does a fantastic job of bringing Louis Zamperini's journey to life, showcasing everything from his Olympic aspirations to his unimaginable experiences as a prisoner of war in Japan during World War II. I found myself learning so much about the Olympics, the U.S. Air Force, and the Pacific War along the way. And despite the tough times depicted in the book, the ending leaves you feeling uplifted and hopeful.
Gripping story about a man I admire immensely. Hillenbrand writes sparingly and very well. I don't give it a 5 because I can't rid my mind of some terrible images.
An incredible story but a tough audiobook that dragged at parts. War stories are not my favorite.

Incredible story about quite a lovable rebel. Makes me think that there has to be some correlation between the brain of a long distance runner and an ability to endure. My suggestion is to read the book without researching any of the characters.
