I'm living for the little references to previous novels in these books without them being an actual series, they're so fun.
This one wasn't my favourite, I think the content just wasn't AS interesting to me because I'm not a fashion girly but I loved how well this book looked at diversity in workplace environments and tackled some really hard subjects without being patronising.
As usual the characters were likeable with realistic, relatable issues that make these novels super immersive. I want Questy to be a real game please! You wouldn't get me OFF my phone.
Teddy is a sweetheart and Dee is a badass by the end of the book. I think, honestly, that the characters Lily Chu writes are what make the stories so enjoyable regardless of their full plots. You root for them the whole way through. She just writes growth so incredibly well. I love it.

Was just in it for Phillips Soo and although I love her, the voice acting was a bit flat. I think it colored the characters in a way that wasn’t accurate. The conversations were very blunt and not very representative with the presence of emotionality when two people are crushing on one another.

Dee Kwan goes through life with positive manifestation, and so far, it's working for her. She's at the top of the leaderboards of her favorite online game, on the verge of a promotion at her job, and has the perfect house.
Until everything crashes.
She loses her job, and her parents and estranged grandmother are moving in.
Things are looking up as she secures a new job, becoming a consult for a luxury fashion firm in a PR crisis, but as she tries to do her job, she becomes entangled in a corporate conspiracy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was fun but not my favorite of Chu's novels.
I enjoyed the little Easter egg references to the characters in other books.
The plot was a little ridiculous, but the logic behind the characters' actions made sense, so it was fun.
I enjoyed the characterization of Dee. Her side plot tied into her character a lot, which I really enjoyed. I just wish the side plot wrapped up a little faster? It dragged on a little bit, and The way she approached the issue made sense for her characterization. She's a chronic people pleaser, but it was frustrating at times.
Teddy was a sweet male lead, but I wish there was a little more depth. I understand his side plot was him realizing that I just wanted more background from Teddy.
The Corporate Conspiracy plot was well done, but I wasn't a fan of the romance? I think it was because they confirmed their relationship early on and so there wasn't a lot of romantic tension. I wish that part was a little slower.
Overall, it's a fun book and an enjoyable listen, just not my favorite in the series.

I struggled to get through this. The characters felt really juvenile and there was no swoon to the romance and plot felt contrived. I nearly DNFd this, even though I quite enjoyed other books by her!
