This reminded me of the Phryne Fisher books, in that the heroine kind of drove me nuts, the story line was ridiculous, and I couldn't stop reading it (while also kind of hating it). There are apparently many, many of these books; I can't imagine how that works and I definitely need a break before I try another one.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. There is actually more here than meets the eye and although some things make me crazy (Kitt's name for instance) I really liked it. I look forward to reading more.

Not bad, but this writing voice just isn't for me. There is a LOT of infodumping and the love interest is coming on way too strong.
Way way way too much exposition, not enough things happening and the love interest is so annoying im sorry
The beginning of the book was good and intriguing and I'm just talking about the first two chapters. The sex scenes were absolutely hot. After that it fell to absolute shit. The stereotypical gay guy was annoying and made me feel like I stepped back in time. Changing the aliens religion to reflect the Jewish faith and history drastically after a comparison. Then turning the main villain into a split personally Hitler was just awkward. I want to remove the word fugly from my vocabulary. A very failed love triangle. Just uck.
The science fiction part was good. The romance was merely OK. The "witty banter" was annoying and the character development nonexistent. That being said, I did read the whole thing. I'll probably stop there - too many other books out there waiting to be read.
I couldn't make it past three chapters. I hated the main character's inner monologues, I hated the obvious love interest (named Martini, because ... why not), I hated the dialogue, etc. Ugh. So glad I did not buy this book.
I really liked it and I wished I had started reading this series earlier. My library only has books 1,2, and 13. Wondering if I should try ILL for the third now or wait until read the second?
It's more romancey than I usually read, but it's 1st person POV and feels a lot like urban fantasy, except for the aliens and alien tech. I love that her parents are involved characters and that the pets have to be protected because anything you love can be a hostage.

Don't take this book seriously, if the title doesn't indicate that it's fluffy, I'll tell you right now, it's fluffy. From the very beginning we meet aliens that are all models, and all instantly like or love the main character. The main character and our love interest banter back and forth and spew sarcasm which I'm sure is meant to be witty, but is way too frequent, to be even close to endearing. Even still, in the beginning, I couldn't stop reading. I just rolled my eyes at the character interaction and threw myself into the plot. I was definitely interested in the planet the aliens came from and their culture. Eventually, everything built to a climax, and I started to lose interest. It was just action, sarcastic comment, action, main character kicking butt, sarcasm, action, and I didn't really care at that point. I knew the good guys were going to win, and all of the information was revealed about the aliens, so what was the point? It went on for way to long with action sequence, military maneuver, action sequence. If you want a nice light easy read, go for it, just don't take it seriously, at all.
