Hell Bent

Leigh Bardugo

4.14 AVERAGE

Hell Bent was a wild ride. The book had this strange, almost surreal energy, where it felt like everything had already been laid out, yet it still managed to surprise me. That last hour? Totally unexpected. Just when I thought I had a grip on things, it threw another curveball.

The psychological depth was fascinating—how it explored the characters' minds made everything feel raw and real. It wasn’t just about the mystery or the dark elements; it also dug into emotions, grief, and memory in a way that felt deeply human.

Some moments had me completely shocked, especially the part about Michelle—just a full-on what?? moment. And that section about disposing of a body, about not knowing how to grieve for people you stopped loving long ago? Absolutely haunting. The book balanced these heavy, almost poetic ideas with an eerie, gripping narrative.

Overall, Hell Bent was strange, unexpected, and emotionally intense. It felt like it said everything, yet somehow still had more to reveal until the very end.

A great follow up to [b:Ninth House|43263680|Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1)|Leigh Bardugo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1553102141l/43263680._SY75_.jpg|53348200]. It expands the world and fleshes out the secondary and tertiary characters we met in the previous book.
