Totally enjoyable! I listened to the audio book, and the reader can get a touch annoying when trying to express heated emotion; she sounds like she's going to hyperventilate. But this is wickedly funny and totally contemporary. It might not hold up in 5-10 years, because all the techie brands and buzzwords will be over and dated. And I agree with a couple of other reviews that there's no way Imogen could be THIS completely living-under-a-rock technologically; she's 42, but sometimes reads as 62 in her tech cluelessness. I feel that those moments are needlessly distracting.
If you like insider, NYC industry fiction (is that a thing?), then this is well worth the read.

This book was frustratingly unrealistic and grasping at straws for a story-line. It was straight up ridiculous. How would it be possible to lose touch this badly after being out of the office for just 6 months? It feels like the main character was living under a rock for 20 years. This main character sounds more like my grandma than a 40 yr old, and even my grandma is online. I couldn’t get passed chapter 4.

This book is definitely Rachel Green codec and if Friends was still on tv I can for see Rachel bringing Louis Vittoun in to the Internet age or opening her own boutique and promoting it on Instagram.
I know Imogen Tate is not even a real person but it made me believe more to the idea that we can actually have it all. Just not right away and not all at once. But just like Imogen Tate, in the end she had everything. A happy family, supportive husband, healthy children, loyal friends and a job she loves and very good at.
Turns out I don't care about fashion or tech or working moms.

3.5 stars. Fun, frothy, and fashion-y. Requires some suspension of disbelief about what technology skills are required in the modern world.
Strong 3.5 stars. A 4 star summer read, but with 3 star writing. Escapist tale of a fashion magazine editor who gets caught up in the tech revolution. Don't question the plot holes -- just read it for fun!
