The first book was great. The 2nd was very slow moving and the spicy scenes were like 10 pages.
Once again I'm at a loss at what to say about this book. Much like the first one, I spent most of the book thinking about how I probably won't continue the series, but the at the very end, the author hooked me into wanted to read the next one with a good plot twist that was missing during the majority of the book. I think I was just not vibing with excessive/unnecessary sex scenes that made me want to skim along so I can continue the story line. Sure they were spicy and well written but at some point it just feels like too much of that and not enough plot.... Dont get me wrong, I love a good spicy scene as much as the next person but something about this book just did not appeal to me.
That being said, I'll probably finish the series anyway.

again, it was a quick and entertaining read. I don't really remember the plot at all. and of course I will be reading the rest of the series.
I finished the first book of the series and had some hopes for the second one, but I could not finish it. The smut was really well written and really good, but the rest of it was lacking. The plot made somewhat sense and the world-building concept was great, but the way it was being executed did not sit well with me. It kind of felt like smut was being forced into the plot line, which is perfectly fine as it is a smutty romance. I am a firm believer though that, if you are going to try to work smut into a plot line, it should not be forced, as it makes the read really awkward and hard to follow. Most people can work through that, but I could not due to the kind of reader I am.
So the plot has potential but also so much is unclear.
Would definitely have benefited from outlining the original deal and the parameters of the curse and how it might be broken because it seems to have been stupid...money and a seat at a table...to what end? Why is the kingdom cursed? Why can't they imprint?
Also then grand reveal was not.
This story and characters (looking at you hadriel) has so much potential. Instead we have an insufferable MMC who keeps putting barriers up only to change his mind and then sulk about it and a FMC who is dumb for a smart girl.
Honestly I don't understand why they didn't just do the big committment and flatten the king.

Not much has changed from my original review but I will update it a bit!
Finley is a really well written character and I absolutely loved her! Nyfain was very whiney and self deprecating and I can only take so much of him...

The enemies to lovers trope works here and their love blossoms very sweetly. There is chemistry and there is very fun sex! It is not as kinky as I would have liked and I truly feel like they could have gotten away with being much dirtier but it worked and it was definitely hot!

I remember this book being a lot shorter and maybe it should have been...

Oh my dragon!
This book was so deliciously sexy, funny, and emotional that I can't quite wrap my mind it all. The end had me crying so much! I have to know what the next book will bring hopefully sooner than expected but if you haven't started this series you're seriously missing out.
