Minor spoilers ahead!
At about 40% of the book, I stopped expecting the genre to be fantasy and accepted the fact that this book is pure smut. Don't get me wrong, I like smut... But I just thought this was more dragonny than smutty. It was OK smut but it really slowed down the story and I feel like it happened at really weird moments. I know that the author wanted to use spicy scenes as high tension point, but I don't feel like it's working.
The pace of the series is super slow, I feel like book 1 and 3 could have been 1 book. The first part of this book was espacially boring with nothing really happening beside a very bad tension between the MCs. The evolution of their relationship wasn't really well written, and I didn't like that their animals had to "force their hands" for the bonding. It didn't feel right.
The main character is quite funny and her insults are just great ("you slack-jawed cul goblin"or" you are such a cul-gargling twat" are my favorite) but WTF is up with her obsession with pubic hair? There are sooooo many lines about pubic hair, whyyyy?! The FMC is completely obsessing about her bush and the fact that she hasn't trimmed it in so long but no-one else but her (including me the reader) gives a shit.
Also, we spent the first book and 3/4 of this book waiting for the reveal of the big bad meany. It was way too long. At the end, even the FMC agreed with me and says that she's "sick of hearing he might show up". And then he shows up. And as usual with this type of story, even if he's described as really mean, taking no shit for anyone and killing everyone he wants, OF COURSE FMC can do and say whatever she likes. And of course he doesn't appear as cruel as he was described. It's the demon King but he isn't more powerful than MMC? (...)
I also didn't like the fetishism surrounding FMC's same sex experience. FMC turns on MMC by talking her first same sex experience. It shouldn't be happening in a book, it is disrespectful and normalizes lesbian fetishism. I'm pretty sure the author knows about it as well because at the end of the scene, she says to the MMC: "wait, why is it OK to hear about women touching me but not men?",followed by a weak justification.
I'm still not sure if I'll finish the series.

Took quite a while to get to the good stuff and move the story along. Sort of stayed in one spot for quite a while and there’s so much sex stuff! Hopefully the 3rd book moves a bit quicker

Good story, but slow. The author withhold information to drag out the story another 2 books, but it was probably unnecessary. Skipped most of the sex, as it didn't move the story along and was mostly filler.

So objectively, this book was better than the first one. I felt like more actually happened plot wise, but still very little to go on.
The cliffhanger was okay; much better than the first book. I’m tempted to start the 3rd book, but I don’t want to pay money so just waiting for it to drop on kindle unlimited
