The writing was awful, the story wasn’t progressing. Unnecessary smut in between? Tension was gone once the smut started in book 1.
The story really starts to come together, and honestly, I love the spice (it's really good), but I honestly think it takes away from this amazing plot and story. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely be re-reading this at some point, so it's not like I'm knocking it, but I think that this amazing story just gets overshadowed. KF Breene is brilliant and funny and I enjoy so many of her books, especially her Deliciously Dark Fairytales series. It is by far my favorite series from Breene. It’s dirty, dark, and delicious.

If you are looking for a plot or character development -- nope this aint it. It's a BATB retelling and that's all it brings to the table outside of the sex, which of course if that's what you are looking for then by all means: this is for you. I do like my 600+page ebooks to have a touch more substance though.
