Even though I gave this book 3 stars I did really like it but the reason why I’ve given it 3 stars is because at times a lot of it didn’t make any sense. Of course the end cleared it up but at the time the back and forth of Nyfain and Finley’s wants and desires were just all over the place. No we can’t have sex, yes we can, no I’ll just pleasure you, wait no we can have sex now I do want you. Yes mark her, no don’t, yes I want it, no I don’t! I get there was a lot of uncertainty and guilt but it was just drawn out to long. If you look past that it’s a great book once you could understand where they actually were at in their “relationship”. Pre-warning this book is full of smut upon smut. It was a lot more spicier than the other one. Which was nice! But the plot was a little lost for a bit, but came back towards the end. It was a fun book with some really good humour. If you aren’t a fan of smut it’s probably not the book for you.

This feels the same as the middle book in a trilogy: nothing really happens.
It was too much spice for me at times that I even found myself kinda skimming through it to get back to the plot.
It was not as good as the first one and at times it also felt a bit dragged out (but maybe that could be because it took me a while to read it)
I really do not remember much of what happened in it other than a lot of spice

In many ways, this was better than book 1. I really like Nyfain as a character and the world/conflict/plot aspect of the story. The curse and his upbringing and her village and her backstory.
The biggest issue I have with this story is the way it was written and the over the top snark.
I’m writing my review a couple of weeks later and I honestly thought I got further in the series than book 2 before I decided I didn’t care about what happens enough to read another book, but it was almost 500 pages, so maybe that’s why I thought I’d made it to book 3 by this point.
I would have raves about this series if it was darker in terms of writing OR it was shorter. I felt like it was trying to be this dark romance, but the sarcasm and snark is just too much for this many pages.

I binge read this series, so ya'll are getting all my thoughts at once
Book 1: I was a bit worried it would be as cringy as ACOTAR, but it wasn't. Nice set up to the series, but I was ready to dive more into the story/ see the characters relationships pan out.
Book 2: The notes were adorable, and were a nice building block for Nyfain and Finley's relationship. A bit slow in parts, but you can tell it's leading to something good.
Book 3: This was the most plot forward book. For obvious reasons, it's lacking a bit in the romance department, but the side characters really shined. (And we get to see Finley in a leadership role)
Book 4: A good ending to the series. I felt the pacing was a bit off at parts. I liked how Nyfain's wing situation was handled. (wait was that book 3? I think that was this book.). My only gripe is a big ICK for me, but a common romance trope especially in mate books surprise pregnancy / plot filler pregnancy
