Wonderful YA! I needed something light and fun and Brandon Sanderson is always great so I thought I'd give these a try before giving them out. Extremely entertaining with references that adults will catch but are still kid friendly. The audiobook reader is brilliant and his sarcastic tone makes these novels worth a listen even for adults. I'm not sure how much kids will pick up on the tone, especially reading, and they might come off more negative than some younger or less mature kids can handle, but overall I highly recommend this whole series for everyone!!

I have loved this delightful series chronicling the exploits of the sarcastic anti-Harry Potter. In this fourth volume Alcatraz and company try to save the Free Kingdom of Mokia from falling to the evil Librarians. Like all the other books, the combination of clever jokes and action kept me entertained until the end. My English major friends will love the chapter with dialogue solely from Hamlet. The only thing I'm worried about is whether or not there will be a fifth book. Sanderson clearly has plans for a fifth book, but I haven't heard that Scholastic has approved a fifth book.

4 stars only because this was left on a cliffhanger. Why was it left on such an awful cliffhanger. I don't like it! But I loved this just like I've loved/enjoyed the first 3 books.

I liked this book and in true Brandon Sanderson style, it was a crazy ending that I didn't see coming. But the YA in this book got to me a tad bit, it was a bit much than the previous books. I hope kids like it because it seems like it would be cooler if I was younger. Either way, I will finish out the series with the next book for sure. It has been a fun story thus far.
