DNFing this at 372 pages/81%, nothing happened for at least 250 pages, and when something does happen, It's not even worth to keep reading…
This reads like a second book of a trilogy, like you're supposed to know the world and characters already. Again, nothing happened for a good chunk of the book, the only thing that kept me reading is Sera and Vitaly (and to some extent Galina and Vasilia), otherwise, not worth the trouble.

I don't know how it is that I expected nothing from this and I was still disappointed. It was entertaining and fun to read when you get past the first 30%; it wasn't that boring, but I didn't feel emotionally invested with the characters and story at all.
The plot is extremely simple and straightforward: you know from the start how it's going to end and develop and that's... not so great. The characters were okay-ish, nothing groundbreaking there, but likeable enough, especially Galina.
The main problem of this book, however, is with the worldbuilding: this novel throws names of places and people at you and demands you remember them all the first time you hear them. I was extremely confused throughout the whole novel about which country was which whenever they mentioned them. A map would have helped, but there was none.

I genuinely was trying to push through and hit at least 100 pages and maybe at another time I'll come back and try again.
This book isn't bad and the storyline is interesting, but it wasn't interesting enough to keep me captivated. You meet the main characters like we should already know who they are and are thrown into a slightly confusing explanation of why imperial Russia is imperial Russia, but withdragon gods trapped in human bodies (but only if you're royalty or a descendent of royalty).
Either way - like I said it wasn't bad, but wasn't enough to intrigue me to keep going
