do yourself a favor: don’t read.

Unfortunately by the end of it I felt nothing for these characters, and thus struggled to root for them. The plot was okay, at times a little convenient, and the ending certainly felt rushed. On the whole. I'm not sure whether I would recommend this series. Perhaps read The Loop and see -- although in my opinion it really deteriorated from there. Always satisfying to finish a series though!

Absolutely loved the series. Was elated I found out book 3 was coming out 2 weeks after I finished the second one.

However… the ending left a lot to be desired. When I noticed I only had 20 pages left and Happy still not defeated I knew there was gonna be issues and loose ends.

I wish the book was at least 20-30 more pages to wrap things up slightly better. The last chapter doesn’t even mention whos narrating. We can assume Chilly but nevertheless I digress.

It was an absolute page turner and plenty of times I audibly gasped from an outcome. I didn’t hate the ending and how they defeated Happy but just didn’t like how it felt so left open and alludes to maybe chilly being bad. I’m not even sure anymore.

I will most definitely keep reading books by Ben, but wish this ended just slightly different.

This is one of those books that is hard to review because there are things central to the storyline that are worth discussing, yet you can't because it would spoil the book.

The ARC differs from the previous books in that we have a new character in Chilly, and a good portion of the chapters are told from his point of view. I didn't 100% love him. He wasn't as in-depth as the other characters considering we're getting a good portion of the story from him.

While dystopian, what has always worked for these books is how utterly possible the situation could occur in the world. How easily we give away privacy, vote for people we don't research, and let the system roll on over us without much fuss. People don't have a say anymore and struggle to stay afloat. More and more, it feels hard to find empathy. It's bleak because it's reflective of the world.

When I finished book 2, I didn't know how the trilogy could possibly be a trilogy when there seemed to be so much left to resolve. I wasn't prepared for it to end, and I'm quite sad about it. This is an intensely imaginative world. It's descriptive and very well thought out. I only wish there was more.

Nice and easy to read, and a decent conclusion to the trilogy. I just hated the way all the characters talk.
