Actually, I read One Sparkling Wave by Lady Asquith but I could not find an entry on Goodreads. I must have a little disappointed nothing happened to the main character she just lived her life in service everyone else and then in the end begin talking to herself. There were some lovely moments between mother and daughter but I have notes....

I really enjoyed this book. C.A. writes very well. It was an absorbing picture of leisured society as it hit its first real shock: WWI. Also, interesting (view) of the homefront, especially since C.A> was daughter-in-law to the P.M. (prior to Lloyd-George). It made me want to go read a bio of Asquith though I haven't yet [and still haven't as of 2019]. Amazing how busy she can feel when she doesn't have a job, and has someone to do all her housecleaning, cooking, and child-rearing for her. Supposedly she published a series of memoirs, which I would like to acquire.
