for battle of the books
why was this so good?
i literally listened to the last 5 hours of this book without a break, nonstop
- this was a rollercoaster and the way everything came together makes sense and doesn’t make sense at all but yk it was fun (this book started off as one thing and ended somewhere i didn’t expect but im here for it tbh)
- i also like that this touched on teenage struggles with identity especially with being queer in a homophobic community and being forced into a mold because of the strict idea of what you “should be” (and that throughout this book, Chloe and a lot of others learn what that really means and that they don’t have to conform - they really felt like real people)
- i liked a lot of the characters because of their different and specific personalities and how they interact with each other, it made this book interesting + i liked the character growth
-Smith. i just really love him, he’s so genuine

freshman year me would have loved this book. Chloe’s moms were absolute angels and to see young queer kids experience older adults experience a happy life being who they are made my heart melt. Also I found it very fun how the names in this book were based off other characters the author was inspired by haha

This book was like an an ode to my teenage self. 🥹 It's basically the LGBT version of "Looking for Alaska" * it got me giggling so hard.
An enjoyable read with cute, distinctive characters and a perfect mix of "small town romance" x "academic rivals to lovers". It's a clean romance as well. 👌🏻
A big recommendation from me! 😍👀
