This book was like an an ode to my teenage self. 🥹 It's basically the LGBT version of "Looking for Alaska" * it got me giggling so hard.

An enjoyable read with cute, distinctive characters and a perfect mix of "small town romance" x "academic rivals to lovers". It's a clean romance as well. 👌🏻

A big recommendation from me! 😍👀
medium-paced

cute baby gays but the beginning was a bit tedious

The representation is this book is second to none but the plot wasn't for me. Neither was our narrator Chloe or Shara, both of who really irritated me and I would have preferred to hear from the side characters instead.

"technically though, eighteen years isn't a lot of time either" I've never been a gay teenager living in Alabama with an absolutely batshit archnemesis who kissed me and disappeared, but there's a taste of nostalgia in this book that means even though I'm way past my high school years, I could feel like this is something I lived when it was my turn. The journey these three went through thanks to the avoidance schemes of one closeted southern princess, and then the further journey of growth of one maniacle overachiever was as entertaining as it was heartwarming and honestly I can't believe I waited this long to read it. Literally couldn't recommend it more if I tried. Dang it Casey McQuiston you've done it again!

kissed Shara Wheeler, what starts as three very different high school seniors - soon becomes a close knit Shara Wheeler search mission. Each of these three - the bisexual valedictorian who doesn’t care for the uptight nature of her strict Christian school, the laid back cool guy musician, and the trophy popular football star boyfriend - have each been left a note by Shara. These three must work together to find where the It Girl who seemingly had it all has gone.

A story of highschool, unlikely friendships, self discovery, coming out, and dealing with blatant bigotry from a traditional church led school administration…
This book has it all and is a great queer coming of age story !
