I sped through this book because it checked off all my boxes: mystery, gay, romance, coming of age….! I loved the portrayal of how people are neither just good or bad but a mix of many different things that make them human. & the Smith/Rory pipeline to love was the perfect twist. I didn’t have an ounce of self discovery like these characters did in high school, but I deeply empathize with all the emotions that come with growing up. Perfect beach read for me and I can’t wait to meet my Shara Wheeler who creates scavenger hunts for me to fall in love with her (but isn’t trying to sabotage me.)
