I gave this book a 1.75 bc I did want to find out if he did it or not, so I listened to the bitter, bitter end. The short, satirical novella by Mc Fadden I had just enjoyed and that was described as a send up of her usual writing style did not prepare me for the inanely pedestrian writing, the plethora of cliches and the unbelievably old-fashioned stereotyping of gender roles. The naivety of the two female protagonists was almost unbearable. The plot, if you could call it that, was outlined as clear as a vapour trail in a blue, blue sky. The much-mentioned surprises or twists felt anything but and had a certain soap opera feel to them.
An epitaph: how to get ahead by doing absolutely nothing.

A B movie equivalent of a book. Fun holiday reading with the most flaky heroine. Loved the final twistπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

I thought this was going to be similar to Verity by Colleen Hoover because of how the book started out, but I was definitely thrown off by the ending

This book felt like a mix of verity & the only one left
