2.5 stars- I didn't love this obviously there were a ton of things that bothered me - that said I'm going to try the next in the series because I kind of want to know what that ending was about .
Erica is a completing student from Harvard, looking for investment into her fashion social media platform. Blake Landon is a potential investor, a self made millionaire not much older. Blake quickly wants to move their relationship from business to personal, but Erica doesn't want to complicate her priorities. An easy, enjoyable read, the beginning 60% was gripping, less so from there.
More like 3.5 it was a great read. I enjoyed reading this book. Though I figured the big reveal about who her stepbrother was before I even got there. I love Blake but then again we only learned a little about him. He has some many secrets that it would probably take forever to really get to know his character. I can't wait to learn more about Blake in the rest of the series.
Das Buch habe ich nur auf Grund einer Empfehlung gekauft. Ich kann mich nicht einmal daran erinnern jemals den Klappentext gelesen zu haben. Jetzt gerade, in dem Moment, indem ich diese Rezension schreibe, habe ich nochmal schnell den Klappentext gelesen. Im Nachhinein frage ich mich wirklich, warum ich das Buch überhaupt gelesen habe. Die Inhaltsangabe entspricht eigentlich nicht meinem Geschmack. Ich finde das Thema Millionär mittlerweile einfach zu abgenutzt.
Charaktere: Erica, die weibliche Hauptprotagonistin finde ich eigentlich ganz sympathisch. Sie ist nicht ganz so "schwach", wie die meisten anderen Frauen in solchen Büchern. Blake ist meiner Meinung nach sehr klischeehaft. Zu hübsch. Zu viele Muskeln. Zu perfekt. Naja, aber wie man es aus solchen Büchern kennt, hat er auch so seine Probleme.
Meinung Inhalt: Der Inhalt ist nichts Neues. Dennoch wollte ich immer weiterlesen. Es war trotzdem spannend. Auch wenn ich manchmal einfach nur die Augen verdrehen wollte. Die Beziehung zwischen den beiden, finde ich, ging einfach nicht in die Tiefe. Beide finden sich einfach nur heiß. Mal sehen wie der zweiter Band weitergeht. Vielleicht ist da ja doch noch ein bisschen mehr.
Fazit: Klischeehaft. Vorhersehbar. Trotzdem spannend, sodass ich das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen konnte.

An odd book with a very interesting concept yet I liked it. Blake was a little too alpha (can they ever be too alpha!!??). His tendency to control EVERY aspect of Erica's life made me a little concerned. I mean, at some point, I thought he had embedded a chip in her head. He kept turning up at every place Erica would be. Very eerie. The relationship developed rather quickly but unfortunately that seems to be the things these days in many romance novels. And yes, while there isn't a cliffhanger, per se, there is a book two that you have to read to conclude Blake and Erica's story. The smexy times were nicely done and often, quite hot! Not a bad read and will definitely look into Hardpressed.
