My husband bought this book years ago because he thought it was seriously about hackers and computers. I had to break it to him that it really wasn't
Actual rating: 3.5 stars
Oh, wow. Hardwired intrigued me from the start. I have seen this book being compared to Fifty Shades of Grey, and it does have some things that are similar but it’s also very different from Fifty Shades of Grey.
Erica has just graduated from Harvard and wants to start her own business, but she needs investors. This is where Blake comes in. He’s a self-made billionaire, not much older, than Erika and he’s interested in her business and in her.
Erica is struggling. She desperately wants to launch her fashion website but she doesn’t have the resources. She’s determined to chase after her dreams, and I admired her for that. Blake is instantly attracted to Erica. But Erica doesn’t want a relationship at the moment. Blake chases after Erica, and Erica pushes him away. That only made Blake want her even more. She does give in to him, eventually. And let’s just say that things get hot.
This isn’t your typical billionaire type of romance. The heroine is sassy, feisty, and she stands her ground. She doesn’t give in easily to the hero. Blake has some controlling tendencies but Erica puts her foot down. I FREAKIN’ LOVED THAT! Also, the hero isn’t your typical sexy billionaire-he’s also a geek. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
There were a few cliches in this book but they didn’t bother me that much. There’s an unique plot with some mystery and suspense in it. The ending does leave you wanting more, so have the second book on standby when you finish this one. Blake and Erica both have secrets, and I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds with the next books.
Recommended To:
Fans of erotica. Also, anyone who likes sassy heroines.
Some quotes from Hardwired:
“You lose yourself, Erica, because with the right person, who you become together is something so much greater, more than you could even realize right now.”
“You were right. I’m going to make you want things you never knew you wanted.”
“Baby, this is who I am. I’m hardwired this way. And if I’m trying to take control over the situation, please understand that I have very solid reasoning for it.”

This book is both addictive and sexy in every way!
When I first read Hardwired I was hooked instantly. The plot was good and easy to understand, and even more, the sexy scenes were kinky with a side of intense desire. I loved the instant attraction between the characters and yet the small game of chase they played throughout the story. You know a book is a hit when you read it about 3 times.

I enjoyed this book which is the first in the five-book Hacker series.
In Hardwired, we meet the cast of characters.
It follows the lives of Erica Hathaway and Blake Landon - and their family, colleagues, friends and enemies!
We meet Erica Hathaway as a young Harvard University graduate - smart and self-made - nobody helped her get to where she is. She is a tech entrepreneur and just days after graduation she is presenting her fashion website start-up to a team of investors. And of COURSE one of the investors is a very sexy man named Blake Landon. Blake is a billionaire investor and rumored hacker...
SO - sparks fly of course between them.
Blake is sexy, smart and also self-made. Through a series of events of course they connect, but Erica is harboring a dark secret. When Blake finds out - well - that's the fun of the story.
The writing is excellent - it pulls you in from the start. The tech start-up angle is good and written knowledgeably - but the real story is the relationship between a dominant man who gets what he wants (and has his own secret history) and a woman finding her way in a male-dominated tech world.
I loved it - some steam, some mystery and just a fun engaging read.
I am ready to devour the rest of the series
So happy to have had the opportunity to be introduced to this series and Meredith Wild.
