Exciting. Action packed. A little far fetched. But I enjoyed the parts where they referenced science that I learnt in my first year at uni.

As the NASA/Space nerd that I am, I found the book riveting at the turn of the page. I usually find these books (I'm referring to books that read like action movies that normally receive mediocre reviews) to be cheap thrills - guilty pleasures, if you will. But Deception Point seemed to be an exception. Perhaps it's due to my partiality to astronomical conspiracies or perhaps due to my need for a leisurely read. Regardless, this novel read like a damn good action flick. At the end of every chapter Dan Brown left me starved for more. I wasn't able to read less than one hundred pages in a sitting - else I put the book down unsatisfied. If you need a quick read and some quality entertainment (and if you enjoyed his other books), then check out Deception Point.

EDIT: I've come back to re-review this novel. Upon reading Brown's Digital Fortress, I have come to believe that his novels are purely formulaic. Sure, he's imagined an exciting plot (albeit, incredibly unbelievable), but all he seems to do is plug new variables into the same exact formula over and over. If you've read one, you've read them all. While reading Digital Fortress I found myself accurately predicting the conspiracy and conspirators! Oh well...

My second Dan Brown novel. Fun story and a real page turner.

OK, somewhat suspenseful.

I got 10 pages in to this before I realized I had already read it twice, when it was called "Angels & Demons" and "The DaVinci Code". The plot is the basic Dan Brown Mad Lib, and the characters are flat and uninteresting.

Excellent read. I like the older style, lots of action. A bit too much deus ex machima but a good book to listen to

Fun enough. I love conspiracies.

All Dan Brown books begin to sound the same. He took a formula and tweaked it until it became successful with The Da Vinci Code. That said, the are still fun reads.
