Deception Point

Dan Brown

3.5 AVERAGE

Another slow start, similar to his other books, but a quick and twisty ending

With all the thrills, sex, espionage and government intrigue of a CBS made for TV film Deception Point was a breezy thriller almost perfectly written to distract you from a long layover or screaming baby, three rows ahead of you.

I know this sounds like a negative review but despite its paint by numbers thriller I did enjoy it for what it was. Likable and if not unremarkable even predictable characters kept me invested while the story hit all the right beats.

Perfect for a long flight, a relaxing vacation or something to distract yourself as you wind down for the day.
adventurous mysterious tense fast-paced

Good read. Classic Dan Brown style , thriller meets science and a never ending chase with a most unexpected turn of events added to a few near death experiences. Not as amazing as his other novels but definitely better than novels from other authors in the same genre.
adventurous dark mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot

I was not expecting great literature, but this seemed especially phoned-in. And BORING.

Good thriller - makes you wonder what's going on right in the world of science and politics that we never hear about now too. Pretty timely.

This was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. About the NRO, NASA, and a presidential election; Dan Brown delivers a suspenseful mystery. Granted at times the switching of characters between chapters is a bit annoying, but in general, it all works together to tell the story. Would recommend to those who like Dan Brown.

one star review specifically for the audio book bc changing and omitting scenes from the book but leaving the R slur was a CHOICE.

This is my favourite of Dan Brown's books
