I listened to this on audiobook, which I feel like led me to miss some stuff, BUT this book is a beautiful and tragic history of Afghanistan through the stories of two women over the course of about 50 years. I think if I read the book (vs listen to) I would’ve absorbed more of the actual history, but the story itself is still very powerful.
