I love all of Whitney G’s books! They are impossible to put down. I really loved reading about Haley and Corey. They were sweet and funny together and I know Jonathan is her brother and protective of her, I still can’t believe he was such a jerk to Corey when he found out they were together.
Fast pace and easy to read stories are among the things I like the most about Whitney G’s publications. Over Us, Over You provides both as well as a fun and sexy plot I read in a single sitting.
When Haley’s dreams go belly up, she turns to her brother Jonathan Statham for help, but planning his wedding is taking too much time. Being a loving and overprotective brother though, he doesn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand through his best friend and business partner Corey, the boy who used to be her friend and major crush before he disappointed her.
Years after Haley stopped answering his texts and phone calls, Corey crosses paths with his best friends’ delectable, lively and very inebriated LITLLE sister who finds her way into his hotel room, torturing him with sexy kisses and a revelation that she’s still a virgin. Compelled to help out by giving her room and board as well as car rides to the office, a very cantankerous Corey is on the verge of losing control. Will he risk his friendship with Jonathan to revive his friendship and more with Haley?
Gracia writes sexual tension and smart-alecky banter, especially emails, particularly well. The feeling of a years-long crushes leaps off the page and speaks to anyone who has ever felt deeply for someone who is completely unobtainable. Corey and Haley are both likeable in their own way and are easy to root for.
Corey is pretty much a douche canoe while trying to fight his feelings for Haley, but once the dam breaks, he’s incredible bossy, sweet and swoony. Haley on the other hand is young and still needs some maturing to do, but she’s vivacious and exactly what Corey needs. I got lost in their sheet rumpling and amusing romance.
I also enjoyed getting to know Jonathan for a bit and have now added Mid Life Love to my reading list.
Over Us, Over You is standalone contemporary romance by Whitney Gracia Williams. It’s a sexy and fun friends to lovers, forbidden romance. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

Like most books by this author, this is a sweet and comparatively moderately sexy read. It features an endearing hero that I really liked, and a less than charming heroine that I eventually liked.
This book basically has the same structure as a typical Whitney G read—if you have read her before, it features the lovable tension, the quick banter, the snarky emails, etc. I liked the backstory for this couple, because I always love seeing couples meet as teenagers and I enjoy reading about how their relationship progresses over time. I didn’t really like the heroine’s persona, because she just annoyed me for some reason.
I was on board for and was engaged with most of the plot. I only lost love for it when the inevitable emotional climax happened and the hero made a dumb choice that took away from his character a bit. His actions did make me warm to the heroine more, so that was a plus.
Also, this romance features the couple from this author’s (I believe it’s called) Midlife Love series, and though those two were a hot mess, I’m curious about how their romance played out, and I think I’ll read their story in the future.
The fact is that I am a bona fide Whitney G Stan and I will keep reading her entertaining romances, no questions asked. Therefore, my opinion is probably not the most valid as far as recommendations are concerned, but I liked this one. It isn’t her best, but it has merits, and it brought me joy and a needed distraction.

Arg. I did make it through this one, but it's a clear example of how older brother's best friend falls for a girl is a really tricky trope to pull off - I don't think I've read one I truly loved and this one was particularly terrible especially because the heroine was one of the worst ever: airhead, unreliable, a brat. A story to forget.
When I read the blurb for this book, I knew that I had to read it. I mean... if that doesn't grab you, what will? I really enjoy forbidden, hands off romances. The banter between these two characters is hilarious. I love the emails and text messages back and forth. Hayley and Corey have known each other forever. Jonathan (Hayley's older brother) and Corey were friends growing up. When they reconnect years later, the sparks start to fly. Jonathan is such an uptight character, so much so that he has you shaking his head at his actions and words. Watching Corey try to resist Hayley is hysterical. I love that it's told between the past and the present as it adds depth and history to the story.
“We were too young, but for the record, I’m pretty sure I damn near loved you, too.”
I am a big fan of the author. The tension between the characters that she creates! She's a master.
But I didn't feel any in this book and therefore...

Over Us Over You was surprisingly very low angst and drama, especially for a Whitney G. novel.
Corey and Hayley have been friends for years, but they have had the standard brother’s best friend limitations. The history between them is told through flashbacks, but I found they weren’t powerful enough to make me feel as though they had a special relationship in youth. The reason for the fall out is told versus felt, and even when they make their way back to each other in adulthood, the passion between them is, again, not felt, making their relationship overall devoid of real passion.
Overall, the characters are enjoyable, but I found I liked Corey much more than Hayley. Corey had the intelligent, stolid hero thing going on, which I find irresistible. Hayley, thought, turned into this flighty heroine when she was smitten with him. I much preferred the strong woman who tried to run her own business on her own two feet, disconnecting herself from her brother and his reputation. The moments between the two are HOT, but I wanted the chemistry to transfer to outside of the bedroom as well.
Over Us Over You has not been my favorite novel of Whitney G.’s, but this could very well be because her previous books contain everything I Love in a romance, angst, passion, insane chemistry, and alpha heroes. So, I’m just going to chalk this one up to not hitting the personal mark for me, and I’m still looking forward to more from this author.

Nothing new or amazing but it wasn't bad either considering it was a quick and easy read. I wish the novel was longer so there was more room for character development. The story was a little rushed. Corey carried the novel. Hayley was just a mess. She's supposed to be "humble" but she didn't act like it at times. Her brother gave her a cushy job and she didn't even take it seriously. I was also annoyed when she ended a call on Corey even though he said it was IMPORTANT. How are you going to end the call on someone when they have something important to say. I know, I know it's supposed to add drama to the story... but damn. Try to make her more likable.
