Over Us, Over You

Childhood friends to "enemies" to lovers y brother's best friend son mis clichés FAVORITOS y ahora mismo me encuentro totalmente ENAMORADA, basta.

emotional hopeful lighthearted medium-paced

Hayley Statham grew up in Ohio in foster care. She wanted to make a name for herself and make it on her own. She even changed her last name to Smith. She moved to Seattle and started a coffee/wine bar with her best friend, that’s now gone under. She feels like a total failure, and needs a fresh start. Her only option is to call her overprotective older brother Jonathan. He’s a self-made billionaire & the CEO of Statham Industries. She heads to San Francisco to work for her brother till she gets her life back on track.

Hayley arrives in California she runs into Corey Walters. He works with her brother and is her brother’s best friend. She hasn’t seen him in years, and he’s handsome. She had a crush on him growing up, and always considered him her best friend too. When they are suddenly in close quarters and spending time together they have trouble resisting one another. Corey knows Hayley is off limits to him, but soon he can’t fight their attraction. He wants her to be his in every way.

Johnathan is Haley's over protective big brother and his best friend Cory is a dog when it comes to women. Cory reputation is bad in Johnathan's eyes and would not like him dating his sister. Do they survive an overbearing brother? Will Cory admit his feels for Haley?

I enjoyed the story it was cute and funny. There naughty texts to each other was to funny.

Whitney G does it again

Seriously, so Good! I loved sincerely Carter & sincerely Arizona. 2 of my favorite books, so I knew this had to be good (while I impatiently wait for forget you Ethan.) And it is fire!
These two were made for each other, and the older brothers best friend trope is one of my favorites.
Highly recommend this read if you need something swoon worthy, brothers best friend, or just downright romantic.

I enjoyed this although I think this book should be marketed as a follow on to the Mid-Life Love series, otherwise some parts won’t make sense. What may seem like plot holes, are filled in by previously reading the other books. It was a quick read.

I thought this was a YA romance. It uh, it was not.

Blah.
So sad about the execution. The idea was fab, the blurb gave me actual tingles, I was SO excited about this book and... *poof* It all vanished in a puff of smoke.
No character development. The heroine was such an immature brat! The MCs were lacking any type of connection or chemistry, everything felt very rushed. Overuse of ellipses. Overall it left me the impression of an unachieved and amateurish story.

Whitney G delivered all kind of amazing novellas and books but I'm sad to say this one left me unimpressed and disappointed. Looking forward to read whatever she has next though.

I received an Advanced Review Copy from the author in exchange for my review.

To say that I hated this book would be an understatement. (SPOILERS)
First, the characters in this book who were actually suppose to be in their mid twenties, I guess, behaved like high schoolers (Sometimes it was even worse, they reminded me of annoying 10 year olds).
Second, this book was the definition of a very bad CLICHÉ. A few examples of that are:
1. All of them had a tough past. Both the main characters had parents issues. That too related to gambling and drugs. (Seriously?)
2. But then they became rich! Surprise, surprise... Her brother became the richest person in the universe. Oh, and he dropped out of Harvard to launch 'sPhones', 'sTablets', 'sLaptops' etc. (Not cliché at all)
3. When they were teenagers, both the main characters didn't look good (the guy was 'chubby') and had a crush on each other.
4. And the most clichéd part, Corey is Hayley's brother's (Jonathan) best friend. Not so surprisingly, they kept their relationship a secret from Jonathan, so when he got to know about them he happily gave them his blessings. Not. He asked Corey to break up with her and Corey, obviously, did that.
5. After that she was upset for a few weeks (one chapter, I guess) and then she forgave him and they lived happily ever after.

THE WRITING: I would love to say that even after all this the writing was quite good. But just like the characters, the writing was not good, to say the least.
THE PACE: I really like fast paced books but this one was too fast. Within last 3-4 chapters they broke up and got back together, and it's not like the chapters were long, in fact, they were quite short.
