Blair Braverman
Braverman paints such a vivid picture of a cold landscape and colder people (some of whom have a surprising core of warmth inside). This is what I love about memoir: This is not a person with whom I have much in common, living a life that would make me miserable, but she makes me interested in her growth, satisfied in her stead.

A powerful story of finding yourself and deciding what your own limits and boundaries are, told with empathy, intention, and bravery.
Leaves me wanting more in the best way!
What an amazing writer! What a well constructed narrative! What an amazing book! It leaves me wanting more. More of all the people who have filled Braverman’s life, more of the dogs, more of the cold. And I hate being cold. A must read.

Couldn’t get into and just felt like I wasn’t sure what the narrative was for. Like why write this memoir and not something else? What story are you trying to tell?

Someday I will read an adventure memoir about a woman that doesn't end in domestic bliss. But not today.
Blair's twitter is such a haven of positivity and doggy smiles in this tumultuous time. This book details the hard road she took to get to that place. Full of sexism and danger, her path through Norway and Alaska is fraught. I felt scared for her more times than I could count while reading!
