I love Blair Braverman and have been following her stories of her dogs for ages and have enjoyed articles she’s written. I was excited to read her story and learn about her becoming a dog sled racer. This book was supremely disappointing. Her jumping around in time really brought down the story and she spent so much time talking about a store in Norway and almost nothing dog sled racing.

This book...
It was enthralling and terrifying. I was so afraid for Blair. It didn't help that I had started following her on twitter before I ever listened to the book. She lives really not that far from me and I felt very protective of her even though all this had already happened. Blair is amazing and her story is not easy but it is so rich.

I listened to Blair's book on audio, which was such a treat given the nature of this deeply personal and self-reflective story about a young woman's search for herself through pushing boundaries. I actually went to high school with Blair, which made the read even more interesting! But I think most women would find her story really compelling, especially those who enjoy books with a streak of feminism or books about the outdoors. Blair is amazingly articulate about her own traumatic experiences related to the vulnerability of being female, but at the same time her story is at its core deeply empowering. And it gives a look into the landscape and people of places I may never see: Alaskan glaciers and northern Norway. Can't wait to see what she comes out with next!

Audio booked which I usually don’t do, but Bler read it so that was nice. Good 3.5 rounded up.
