I really enjoyed this book. I was short, way to short but it was very powerful. The book depicts the struggles of two teenagers Sophie & Carter as they try to cope with a really tough situations. Sophie's mother is a prostitute whose pretty much abandoned her family leaving her to raise her 3 younger siblings on her own. Carter & his mother have been abused by his father for years. Carter is left with bruises and scars while his mother is mentally unstable. Their both living such hard lives but they find solace in one another. The relationship between these two next door neighbors is beautiful. They understand one another so well without even having to speak. It's this unspoken bond that makes them inseparable. I wish this book was just longer! It's so amazing! It's a super quick read and worth every page.
This was a short novella about two teens on the verge of graduating who both have a very tough home life. I loved how they both overcame their circumstances and took care of their families as best they could. Very sweet!
In less than 120 pages, Chelsea Fine manages to create a good love story that some authors can't in 400 pages. Plus, no insta-love! YAY!! Sophie and Carter's relationship was sweet but a bit too overly cheesy/sappy for my tastes.
short but sweet and amazingly perfect.
nothing else to say other than I LOVE IT! ^_^

A short but heart-warming story about two best friends who has been the pillar for each other.
It was different among all other tales of best friends I've read and this one is not just about it. It is about friendship, family, hope and love all wrapped into one.
I simply love their friendship. I love how they do not need to say words because they know each other too well. I love how they get their strength from each other. I love how they love their family. I love how they are in love but are not selfish to put themselves and their relationship first.
It was not that detailed much and it was focused on Sophie and Carter but the author still captured my attention. I would not mind if this is much longer and more detailed but there's this thing about this novel that if too much information would be revealed, it would be plain and boring.

“Wow!!!” That’s all I can say about this book. The author Chelsea Fine has done a remarkable job with the characters Sophie & Carter. You can’t help but feel an immense amount of love and compassion for them. They overcome some many problems that are thrown their way. I cannot imagine going through the things they go through on a daily basis. You can’t help but want a happy ending for them. They pretend to not know each other at school when in reality these neighbors are best friends. There are heartbreaking moments in this story that add to the fact that these situations do happen. Anyway, I think this is a must read. If anything just to see how these teenagers deal with their problems and what happens between Sophie and Carter.
What a beautiful, heartbreaking story. It is short and sweet but so fulfilling. And hopeful. Though I found myself wishing for more of Sophie and Carter, I didn't want them to face any more pain so I'm glad it wasn't longer.
I loved this novel! It isn't long at all, but it isn't too short either. Usually with shorter books you feel like more could have happened, but I think since Chelsea kept the story so simple and tried not to make it too deep it worked perfectly. I still wish it was a longer book, because I loved the story so much, but I think it is perfect the way it is. Chelsea and Carters characters are wonderfully done and I love their relationship. The way their interact with each other is so graceful and beautiful. It really just calms you think about how easy they move around each other. I highly recommend this novel to everyone everywhere who loves YA and I cannot wait to read more from Chelsea Fine!
