Este libro fue muy dulce, me encanto y los personajes fueron realmente tiernos. Es bastante corto, pero me pareció muy bueno y con un final lindo.

A wonderful Novela that you can read a few chapters on the go or in between breaks. Chelsea Fine's writing style is beautiful! The characters with their flaws showing us that things like abuse could be going on and no one would even know. This is a great story and a great example of what can happen in real life. So glad i stumbled upon this love story! I can't wait to read more of Chelsea's work!

This book was hard for me to get into...not because it wasn't good, but because it opened up a lot in me that I thought was gone.

I love how this story was written, going from Sophie's POV to Carter's. I love that Chelsea gives insight to all her main characters so you can not only read the story, but feel it too. And oh boy, does this book make you feel. If you don't cry at least in some point of this book, you're not human.

Sophie's mother is a hooker and has 4 children. Like most people in that profession, you expect them to be selfish and into their own worlds, not knowing or caring about family, friends or anything else. This is the case in Sophie's position. Still a child, she has to become the mom, the doctor, the caregiver, the dad, the disciplinarian, etc. Her life is just...unfair.

Then there's Carter. His dad is an alcoholic, an abusive one. His mother has taken one too many hits and all of Carter's scars are not on the outside. The things this boy experiences from a very young age would break most people and leave them a pile of skin and bones. He's strong and he has Sophie.

You need to read this book to see what these two struggle with and how they persevere over it all. A very emotional read of support, family and love...even in the midst of heartache.

I love books about people going through tough times, and what first drew me to the book was that the synopsis. Both characters, Sophie, and Carter live in families that don't care for them as they should. As next door neighbors they know about one anther's troubles and find that the only one that really understands their situation is the other. Every night the two friends meet at Sophie's front swing and talk about their day. But both are keeping a secret from one another, they love each other.

Both Sophie and Carter and very well developed characters and I can't help but love them both. The secondary characters, like Sophie's siblings are not as well introduced though, and I ended up getting the characters confused from one another.

The story's of the two character's pasts are told well for the story being just over one-hundred pages, but I feel like there are gaps in both stories that should have been filled in.

I'm not very happy about the ending of the book. It was way to open, and very little conclusion.

In all a great quick read for anyone looking for a romance story.

Me encantó este libro (Carter) aunque me hizo falta más profundidad en la historia que se desarrollaba, me gustó bastante.

Sophie and Carter have been neighbors since the 3rd grade. They can look into each other's windows and see the life the other leads. But those lives are dysfunctional at best. Sophie and Carter know the best and the worst about each other. They are best friends. As their lives evolve and change as graduation draws near, will that friendship change and become something more?

This was a very sweet and endearing story. Chelsea Fine captures the bitterness and uncertainty of growing up very well. I read this story in one sitting, clicking madly through the chapters on my Kindle to see what would happen next. A very well-written young adult novel.

Sophie and Carter makes a great read, especially for a reluctant reader. It is an uncomplicated read, short, but not too short. A great introduction to the young adult genre for the transitioning reader.

This was a good short story, but I'm just not a huge fan of novellas. If they are a little glimpse into a side character in a series, that's different. This could have been a good full length novel. I would have liked to see a little more depth to the characters. It also felt a little repetitive. For such a short story, it went through the same daily routine with very few changes about three times. And then the other thing I didn't like was how often she thought "I love your/his/her guts". She thought it about every single person in the book at least once. And I just really don't like that phrase. It was weird. I did like the relationship between Sophie & Carter and even their relationship with their families. The Littles were sweet and cute and surprisingly well adjusted for their situation. I would try another book by Chelsea Fine, but I would definitely choose a longer book next time.

It was good. I liked how the point of view would change between Sophie and Carter's. I also liked how in the middle of a scene Sophie or Carter would start to talk about memories of the other person's life. I dis liked the scene were Sophie and Carter went to get money from Sophie's mom. I felt really uncomfortable. Other than that I really enjoyed the book and I couldn't put it down.
