PERFECT.

Once again I really loved Kiara and Nino, they are my favorite couple in this universe.
Because of her compassion and sweetness Kiara is just the cutest and I just want to protect her.

This is the first retelling from another POV I didn’t find boring. Maybe because I wanted more of this couple.

The dynamic in this family is unlike any other and I love it. While everyone has their mind made up about the Las Vegas family and their cruelty, I think I like them the most because they don’t pretend to be anything else. They know they’re not good guys and they live with it and take advantage of it. Unlike the New York family where Luca and Aria especially has some kind of saviour complex which I hate in characters!

This was not only a good story about love conquering our darkest demons but also the beauty of platonic and familial love.

The only thing that I liked about this book was Remo and Fina

this was cute! liked the couple(s), liked the writing for the most part

3/5

Three stars because if you read the series in one go, the events of the third book are the same as this one. That’s the reason it was kinda boring.

“What is it?” she whispered, as she ran the sponge along my abs. “I love you more than my life.”

“No. I enjoy seeing happiness on your face. It’s as if I’m feeling it myself.”

“I’m glad for my emotions when I look at you.”

Kiara and Nino will forever be my favorite Cory Reilly characters and the only couple who deserve a second book. I love them, their love is beautiful, and I’m so happy they got their own happy ending.

Twisted Bonds. Where do I start? Twisted Emotions was like a stepping stone to this book and so Twisted Bonds was… well it was the next fucking level. That’s not in a like wow, so much action and brewing drama which I love but in a calm and endearing way.

Characters

Kiara Falcone
Firstly, this book was very character driven and I can say with conviction that Kiara is best girl, hands down. She is too sweet for this world and entirely altruistic. She has so much kindness and love to give it’s almost unfair. What’s even better is that her kindness doesn’t stop her from fighting for what she believes in. She is strong and compassionate in so many aspects.

Nino Falcone
Nino was also amazing. I didn’t feel much for either of these two in their first book but I just can’t imagine not loving them. Nino was always so gentle and loving towards Kiara and it made me weak. He’d never hurt her and I equally respect and praise him for it. For someone who can barely comprehend emotions, he fills me with so many. Nino was so much enjoyable in this book because he was being true to himself and constantly growing and learning.

”Remo considered it betrayal and so did I, but my view on things changed,” Nino said slowly. “We gave Fabiano an impossible choice, one we shouldn’t have given him, I realize that now, and maybe Remo does too.”

I love this because it just proves how much Nino has grown. He was so mechanic in the first few books, specifically Twisted Loyalties when he believed Fabiano’s love for Leona was betrayal. He just had no character at all. Now, he’s all loved up!

Savio Falcone
Honestly, I am so unsure of who my favourite Falcone is. At first it was Adamo because he was such a contrast to his brothers and because he had a pure heart. Sometimes I think it’s Nino, other times I think it’s Remo and sometimes I think it’s bloody Savio. It’s so hard to love one more than the other because they are all so different and exceptional. Usually, I least like the clown who likes to make jokes but this time I really love Savio. He’s funny, incredibly sexy but not as scary as Remo or Nino. I could see him becoming my favourite but we’ll see after I read Twisted Hearts.

Relationships

Nino & Kiara
Okay, okay, romance time. I just don’t know what happened, maybe it was from scenes in Twisted Pride but immediately upon reading this, I was in love with Kiara & Nino. They are just the softest and I genuinely believe they are the best Camorra couple. They are always concerned for each other and they’re just so delicate and beautiful.

“You promised to never use your physical power against me.” A pained look crossed his face. “I’m protecting you. I’d never use my strength to cause you pain, I swear it.” He kissed the side of my head. “Don’t compare me to your uncle.” His voice rang with a note of vulnerability that startled me so much I turned in his hold to see his face better.

Remo & Kiara
Fuck everyone who thinks Remo is a crazy psychopath because he is a strong Capo and an even better father, brother and husband. I cannot stress enough about how reliable Remo is. The scenes with Remo & Kiara always made my heart melt like butter. After Kiara tested negative for a pregnancy test again and Remo consoled her, I was a literal goner.

I crossed the small space between us and hugged Remo for the first time in my life. “Thank you,” I whispered. “You are how I wish my brothers could have been. I don’t care what people say about you, I love you like a brother.”

Savio & Kiara
Come on, they are the cutest. Savio is such a charmer and he just makes everything seem less heavy. I love the way he gets Kiara to relax with his cocky comments. I love how he came to care for her, all of the Falcone’s really. I think it’s super cute how he calls her “Tiny” and treats her like a sister.

Falcone Brothers
The Falcone family has expanded so much and while it fills me so much happiness, I feel nostalgic sometimes thinking about when it was just these brothers.

“It’s us against the world”

They have each other’s backs, always. They’d go through fire for each other and I would die inside if any of them lost each other.

Falcone Family
OMG, Cora Reilly really outdid herself with this family. The dynamics, the relationships, the bonds, the love… it’s indescribable. I love when everyone’s in the gaming room just being a happy family. They all accepted each other, not immediately but it happened and the family scenes don’t get much sweeter than that of the Falcone’s.

Scenes

Remo Trading Himself
This book had my emotions on high end. The first case was when Remo was trading himself for Adamo and even though it was my third time reading it, this time was the hardest. Because this time I experienced everyone’s misery and pain.

Remo was the strongest Capo there was. Without him the Camorra would still be a collection of idiots struggling for power—without him Las Vegas would still be in the hands of unworthy men. Remo was Las Vegas. Remo was the Camorra. Remo was a born leader.

This quote broke me. I didn’t even consider how much this would impact everyone else. It’s such a powerful statement and it once again reinforces the bond between these Falcone brothers. God, Remo & Nino have the closest bond out of all of them and it’s too precious for this world.

Adamo Changing
I’m honestly so conflicted with my feelings towards Adamo. He was the heart and innocence of the Falcone’s for so long and I adored him for it. His generosity and kindness. I was devastated when Adamo revealed he couldn’t forget about being tortured.

“I can’t forget it. I dream about it every single night. About the helplessness, the agony, and worst the unrestrained hatred in their eyes. They wanted to destroy me in the most brutal way possible only because I was a Falcone.”

I hate that the Outfit tortured Adamo when he did nothing wrong and I hate that they enjoyed it so much. I love Dante and that won’t change but the fact that Adamo described their eyes with “unrestrained hatred” hurts. I feel so sympathetic towards him but I can’t help but get agitated by him because of all his stupid decisions. Why would he take drugs? Why would he race when he was forbidden? Why did he let their mother out? Why does he continuously disobey orders from his Capo? From his brothers? It’s frustrating as hell and it makes me want to scream. I’m glad in the end he matured but I miss his innocent and sweet nature.

Mother Bitch
Ugh, I was so fucking torn when the Falcone’s stupid mother made Nino, Remo & Savio slit their wrists. I know they hardly felt it but I could see it so vividly, them standing with blood pooling at their feet and I just crumbled. That stupid bitch should have died a long time ago so they could be unburdened by her.

I am so excited to read Twisted Hearts! Twisted Bonds was close to perfection and it’s Nino & Kiara for the win. I’m happy they got to have children. They deserved to be happy and so do all the other Falcone’s.

-5 stars-
I always find Cora Reilly to write enjoyable stories that keep you interested and thinking about the characters for a while after finishing the book. I love this about her and it keeps me coming back for more and more. The Camorra Chronicles series is a lovely addition to the Mafia World she has built, and I do mean world. To best understand this series you should read "Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles" first, oh and the standalones, AND after this series the Sins of the Fathers. These books are a serious commitment, but they are worth it.

Hii, I'm new to writing reviews, so lets just get into it...
I want to start this review with a TW, Kiara is a SA survivor, and deals with emotional complications when trying for a baby that are maybe related to the SA. There are also some brutal mentions of child abuse on little Alessio, and we get more details on Adamo's drug addiction issues.

Twisted Bonds is majority Twisted Pride but from Kiara's POV, but not in a "ugh I just read this already" type of way. I like that we are served more of the Kiara and Nino relationship to swoon over, and a full close-up view of the rest of the Falcone family and Serafina's twins.

I really liked everything about this book, from the relationships to the drama. We learn how bad Adamo's drug issues are and the brothers are not having any of it. However, an unhinged Adamo brings some serious answers to the unanswered questions about Mrs. Falcone and she is not ok. We get to see Nino's protective "who did this" side and how tight the family bond is when someone needs help. It gives everything you want from a Cora Reilly book: love, mafia, bad boys, and characters that rent space in your brain for a long time.

There were some details that lacked good explanation or had poor wording that could have been corrected in editing, but other than that this book was such an enjoyable addition to the series.

I look forward to reading more about the family in Sins of the Fathers and if you like this author and her other books you will enjoy this book.
