Wow. I loved this book. I was swept away by the world the author built and by these two characters. The author weaved a complex tapestry of their lives and emotions— it felt real and believable. I felt it in my stomach, the butterflies and low swoops.

I read this amazing book once almost a year ago - a few blissful hours of reading I can't forget - and they've lived in my head ever since. Lee Jaehyun. K-pop idol. And Raphael Scott. American rockstar.

I absolutely devoured Hamartia, and and in a year where I've read over 300 books and plots of some have become a bit vague, Hamartia has stood out. Loved the rockstar meets K-pop setting! And Raphael and Jae's gut-wrenching rollercoaster of a romance!

Love, love, love this book. There are a few trigger warnings but I love how obsessed Raphael is with Jae. Can highly recommend

I enjoyed the premise and the story was mostly well executed. The smut was good but not too crazy or too much.
I think the pacing was a little off at some points, the beginning was rather slow and the ending felt rushed.

My biggest criticism is the cheating and the pregnancy. Both weren’t needed to further the plot. The MC just could have broken up with his fiancée earlier, it wouldn’t have changed the story. The pregnancy trope in MM books is something I will never understand (except in a/b/o story’s, that’s something different). I partly enjoy MM because of the lack of a pregnancy jumpscare and it really didn’t feel needed here for the plot. But I liked that the ex-fiancée wasn’t made a villain.

I would have preferred to read more of the coming out. I felt this was brushed over rather quickly and without any problems dispite being painted as impossible before.

The insta-lust and knowing that there’s going to be a lot of cheating is giving me the ick.
