So I've read this series completely backwards, but I don't care. This is a cozy, cozy murder mystery. Lucy moves to the Outer Banks to take an associate Librarian position at the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library. In addition to working at a really cool library, she's provided a quaint apartment above the library...IN THE lighthouse.

In this first of the series we're introduced to all the main characters, why Lucy has moved away from Boston and taken a job in the Outer Banks, Lucy's new romances, and of course, Charlie, the library's cat.

When an influential patron of the library is murdered in the library during their gala, Lucy soon finds she needs to help her friend who has become the one and only person of interest.

Good story, solid pace, fun characters -

Intriguing Mystery

I very much enjoyed this story. There were twists and turns and I was surprised when we learned who the guilty person was. I look forward to reading the next story in the series.

I loved this book. It was a cat nip setting for me - a lighthouse on the Outer Banks, a librarian, a murder IN the library and stolen Jane Austen books...what more could I ask for in a cozy mystery?! The investigation moved a tad slow but the characters are interesting and the plot is engaging. Already got the second book to follow Lucy at the lighthouse's next mystery.

Cute and charming at times, but not terribly creative or diverse. A fun read, but nothing that makes me anxious to pick up the next in the series.
