This was a fun book, Erryn ends up taking in this strage dog like creature and turns out it was created by a blood fae and he wants it back. She was a trade with him, soup for the dog or at least soup that will hopefully help rebuild his magic. He is so grumpy at first but slowly they both come to enjoy each other company more and more but caring for a blood can come at a great cost. This was such a sweet loving book and a girl that will hit a fae man with a iron skillet is my kind of MC.

This was really really cute! No spice, but my god do I love a love story around soup.

I mean, it’s better than Bound by Treason I guess?

The lack of descriptions when a scene is presented are the biggest opportunities I’ve noticed. There was more description of what the MC looked like at the end of the book than at the beginning. It’s just really haphazard writing imo.

This was the cozy, romantasy that I had been looking for in my last several reads, and here it is in a very digestible, and easy to binge story. I am totally in love with the world this story is set in, and how cute and enchanting the main characters are. I also really want soup now!

TL;DR:  Comfort food builds connections and confidence as two beings learn to see past prejudice. Soup makes everything better.

I enjoyed this book, it was a cosy fantasy with likeable characters and a decent plot for just a short Novella, however I did feel it was just that.

Novellas are always a bit hit or miss for me, but I still enjoy them. They’re a good way to enter a new world and introduce yourself to a new author and their writing style.

This novella was written well and is one of my preferred novellas out of the ones I’ve read, my 3 ⭐️ rating isn’t a bad one, as I rarely rate them over 3 anyway, simply due to the limited content of such short books and how I find I don’t get overly attached to the characters or world in a smaller time span.
Despite this, I found myself enjoying the writing style of the author and I believe if I spent more time with the characters and in the world, when the plot developed a bit, I can see myself being sucked into this world. I’ll definitely be keeping a look out for more works by this author and I would recommend this book if you’re interested in finding and supporting a new author, this book would definitely be for you.

I found the characters enjoyable and I could support them throughout the book, which is sometimes difficult when things have to move at such a fast pace due to the smaller book, and although I struggled to keep up with how fast emotions seemed to grow between the two, I suspect that was due to the time jumps we had to have rather than the relationship being unbelievable, and I do think that there is a lot of potential to explore their relationship further.

Erryn as a protagonist was a fun and enjoyable experience, because I found her a bit bold and interesting, which I enjoyed as a contrast to what you’d imagine a soup maker to be like. Her backstory did feel a bit lacklustre after the amount of mystery surrounding it, but that can sometimes come with a cost fantasy, they are not meant to be daring with high stakes, so overall I did really enjoy my reading experience and would recommend this to all you guys looking for your next cosy trip into a new world
