Wow Elvis was…. Kind of a piece of shit as a person. He was controlling, physically abusive, angry, immature, and addicted to pills. Oh, and attracted to a 14-year old. I’m glad Priscilla was able to leave.
Genuinely. This was horrific. This was published so long ago. I hope Priscilla has realized she was groomed and failed by every adult in her life.
Her mission with this book was to shine a bright light on Elvis bc others were not at the time. Ma’am. This was not doing that for me, quite the opposite.
What I liked:
- I can appreciate the behind the scenes type details she provided of her and Elvis.
What I didn’t like:
- 70% of this book is Priscilla discussing how bad she wanted to f*%#? This guy and he wouldn’t. I literally had the biggest ick having to listen to her talk about this over and over.
- I listened to this on audio and the giggling from Priscilla after quoting something Elvis said - THAT WAS NOT OKAY OR FUNNY- was horrifying. She had literally no clue how much she was groomed. And she rly laid it all out and was just laughing.
- The amount of quoting of his she did. It makes me not want to believe the story. How does one woman remember exact conversations like this ?? Idk it was too much lol.
This was not for me. I hope Lisa Marie’s is better.

Got the ick at every baby talk work he said. In addition to him being a piece of shit husband and man.
Very interesting to me that I can’t tell if Priscilla realizes just how toxic he was? She’s just very blunt and doesn’t comment on how it wasn’t good, it just WAS.
I do love that she includes how she become her own person around her mid 20’s, ya know...when brains are finally fully formed.

Audiobook is good at increased speeds. Narration is good.
If Priscilla giggling every time she discussed how she was a CHILD BEING GROOMED BY A MAN 10 YEARS OLDER THAN HERE or laughing when she reflects on Elvis being manipulative or abusive would bother you, don't listen to this book.
I just... How did people think this was okay?
