I’m not a huge Elvis or Priscilla fan, but I was gifted the book and mostly enjoyed it. I felt like the story was very rushed from the time she talked about their marriage to the end of the story. I get their relationship was in the process of breaking down just as it was truly beginning, but I wanted to know more.

It is hard to write reviews on people's life story, especially when it is clear they have suffered so much abuse. However, the book was poorly written, jumping timelines and skimming over events. The dialogue was a bit shallow as well. I feel like Presley could have used a better editor, and also wrote the book more from her perspective. She skimmed over important events like her affair even though that seemed like a large turning point of discovering who she was as an individual. I also think maybe she would have benefited from a little more time before writing this. She still idolized Elvis at the time of writing, and it was a hard read to hear her defending actions like physical violence, controlling her career, clothes, appearance and forced drug use. Elvis was appalling, and it sucked to hear the extent of his control on everyone around him. I feel like the way he acted was similar to all the accounts I have read about Henry VIII in his erratic behavior and abhorrent treatment of family and friends. They didn't call him the king for nothing.
