I just adore the Mulvaney’s and their SO’s. And Archer and Mac are no different. They don’t disappoint. I absolutely called something that comes up. Archer is not what he seems and when things come to light, he hurts and pisses off a lot of people. His dad has put him in charge of a classified, top secret program. And this is where he works with his soulmate. Mac is also in charge at this program. Archer and Mac meet in Vegas and start something up but it really develops after a drunken night in Vegas. Typical Archer. Mac is hot and has a heart of gold, but someone is trying to kill him and after a close call in Vegas with Archer, the Mulvaney’s pull together to help Mac out. This case deals with some heavy topics but as always the author lightens that heaviness with dark humor. I loved the families banter. It was perfect. It was well written. I listened to the audio book and omg Liam Dicosimo does such an amazing job. I love his voice, he truly brings the characters and the book to life and gives it a three dimensional feel. I absolutely love this series and am a little sad it’s almost over, but I can’t wait to see what is going down with the last Mulvaney’s.

After books in the series, you think you would know what to expect, but Onley is great at keeping the readers on their toes. This series has brought something that no other book has for me, and this is, by far, my favorite series of 2022.

In this book, we learn more about Archer and what exactly has been happening with him while learning about a secret project that Thomas has been helping with. Mac understands Archer more than Archer wants him to, and they can't stay away from each other. After someone attempts to unalive Mac, Archer and his family step in to help.

I love that in each book, we learn more about each character and how they think while bringing in the other brothers and learning more about them and their new spouses. Onley did a great job of creating this world, and I feel for these psychopaths and root for their cause. Great series, great book.

I don’t know how I’m supposed to write a book review after the last page of this book. How I’m supposed to even remember that there was an entire story premise before that particular bomb was dropped.
But I’ll try.

Like the others before it, I loved this one! Finding out *who* Archer was under his facade was so interesting. I didn’t have this particular trope on my Mulvaney bingo card but it was another insta-love delight! Mac was a wonderful hero and I loved how Archer became “squishy” for Mac. The mystery was intriguing yet the behind the scenes of what’s *really* been going on has completely peaked my interest.
Was it a little different that the others? Yeah. The end was a little jarring. But I knew it was setting up another series and while it was a little awkward, it did so nicely.
Another Mulvaney win! I cannot wait to see what happens next!

“At this point, he’d been lying to them for so long it seemed rude to tell them the truth now.”

‘Lunatic’ is book 6 in the ‘Necessary Evils’ series by author Onley James, and it’s finally time for readers to get to know Archer Mulvaney - despite his reluctance to be known.

Up until this point, Archer has been portrayed as quite a reprobate: a gambling, high-functioning alcoholic. However, there has always been a sense that there’s something more going on behind the scenes. Readers learn pretty early what that something more entails.

This book has a lot going on. While it is Archer and Mac’s story, it also has Elite tie ins. In addition, it sets up not only the next book in the series, but also an entire spinoff series. Some of that setup overshadows Archer and Mac’s story just a bit at times.

As always, the Mulvaney family dynamics are top-notch in this book.

This was really good!! This one is most definitely my second favourite in the series (after Moonstruck (ugh I really miss Freckles and Jericho)

Absolutely loved the chemistry and dynamic of the main characters. Archer and Atticus are most definitely my favourite Mulvaneys (not including the spouses, of course ;P).

This one was slightly plot heavier than the other books in the series, which I found very refreshing!

And the cliffhanger :O !!! Omg!! Can't wait to read the last book xD
Will Aiden and Thomas get their shit together? Will they let the family help?? Omfg I can't wait to find out on the next episode of Dragonball Z :P
