If I could only say one sentence to express my feelings: i adore this book!

"sometimes history really means nothing when the right people walk into your life"

— my review:
overall: ⭐ 4/5
plot: ★★★★☆
female lead: ★★★★☆
male lead: ★★★★★
side characters: ★★★★☆

Okay, one sentence is not enough, so here’s why I adore this book:

1. Characters of color
2. Unique elements:
Spoilerdeaf characters, learning sign language/ASL, showing couples who live happily without children, genetic conditions where the ovaries age faster, vegetarianism, adoption and loving children equally whether biological or not, and more
.

These details might seem ordinary to some, but to me, they mean so much. They made me fall in love with the book instantly. It’s rare to find such representation in a plot, and I truly appreciate it, especially because it’s written beautifully and never feels forced.

Another thing I love is that although the genre is sports romance and the characters are athletes, this is the first story I’ve read in this category that’s refreshingly clean, no messy parties, no casual sex without commitment, no puck bunnies (I don’t know the basketball equivalent), and no overly lust-driven characters. Honestly, I’m amazed, because in most books of this genre, those elements are almost always present.

If there’s one thing I didn’t like, it’s that the two main characters sometimes lack communication, especially at crucial moments. They don’t explain things right away, which leads to misunderstandings or unnecessarily long delays in resolving issues.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s a refreshing read, with a male lead who is a total green flag, attentive, caring, and loving towards the female lead in such a warm and genuine way. I highly recommend it, a must-read! ♡

When I was reading Mile High,  I was hoping we would get more of Indy. I was never happier that I don't tend to peek ahead, because a whole book of her was amazing. My heart really for her and Ryan. While Mile High was about image, The Right Mlve screams trust. And for these two learning to trust again was a huge undertaking. I loved how Indy learned that quiet love is equally powerful, and that she was always was worth way more than how she was treated. I equally loved how Ryan discovered letting the right people in didn't have to hurt, and being taking care of doesn't mean you'll end up a fool.

Of course the chemistry and 🔥 was great - and I loved getting Stevie and Zee again. Ryan also being overprotective 🫠. I did rate this one a smidge higher, but I think the emotional crafting reader tornado in me felt a real kinship with Indy.
